Welcome, etc.
I've seen loads of Neverwinter builders using blogs to keep folks informed about their projects and discuss various aspects of the same, and various people have been asking me about Torslunda 2, will it ever happen? how's it coming along? OMG IZ IT READY YET???!!! so what the hell, here's the 'blog'/info page for Torslunda and its massively behind schedule sequel (in which maybe the story ends, or maybe it doesn't, who knows?).
The main thing is I am working on the follow up to Torslunda, and have been doing so since late in 2008, but it's a long and intermittent process, what with other factors which lots of us have to cope with - work, family, lalala - so I have no estimate for completion beyond 'hopefully in 2010'. I don't really want to give too much away at this stage, but I expect it to be somewhat larger in scope than the first installment (it already has more areas), it currently uses CEP v2.2 and makes such extensive use of it that any change over to 'Project Q' would be prohibitively difficult. The story starts the evening after your return to Torslunda at the conclusion of the first module and takes you on a journey to other parts of the Icewind Dale region, some known, some newly created, and the further you travel the weirder it gets... Your friends from the first module Droppi, Geren and Gumm all feature once again, although Gumm isn't always possible to convince to travel with you (as it stands). Right now it takes roughly 90 minutes to play through, so there's a lot left to build.
Alongside this I've started to refit the original module in a number of ways. Firstly it also now uses CEP v2.2, principally so that the player can make use of the alternate heads etc when starting a new character, but I've also started to hopefully improve the area design and look of some of the items by using CEP content. Torslunda plays fine of course, but tell the truth, it's a mess under the surface in some places, especially near the beginning where I was almost crying looking at how I'd been setting quest variables before I knew any better :-) So in places I've been tidying up some of the code, making use of features that I didn't know about at the time of building it (NW_GENERIC_MASTER, ActivateFleeToExit() and many other neat tricks). I've also been reworking some of the dialogue, hopefully for the better!
So that's it, Torslunda news-light. Feel free to say hi, ask questions, lurk in the shadows, get drunk, stick on some tunes, as you wish. I'll every now and again post some updates and probably avoid rambling too much.
Looking forward to this one, Luspr. I'm up for being a beta tester for sure, but I'm not adverse to checking out some 'alpha sequences' either. So, if you wanna run some stuff past me then don't be shy :-)
